About the Remington 11-87

The 11-87 updated the Model 1100 platform with a self-regulating gas system designed to cycle a wider range of shell loads, from light target loads to heavy magnum hunting rounds. It was offered in field, sporting clays, and turkey/waterfowl-specific configurations.

Because it shares much of its overall design lineage with the 1100, the 11-87 is often compared to it, though the two are not interchangeable in all parts and are viewed as distinct models by collectors and shooters alike.

Camouflage-finished waterfowl and turkey variants, along with standard blued field guns, make up most of what is encountered on the market today.

Valuation

What affects Remington 11-87 value

We do not publish a price chart. These are the characteristics that determine what a specific example evaluates at.

  1. Factor 1

    Configuration (field, sporting, camo/turkey)

Different factory configurations were aimed at different uses and are assessed accordingly.

  2. Factor 2

    Gas system condition

As with other gas-operated shotguns, cleanliness and function of the piston system is a practical condition factor.

  3. Factor 3

    Camouflage finish condition

Wear or fading on camo-dipped finishes is a distinct condition consideration compared to blued guns.

  4. Factor 4

    Barrel and choke setup

Interchangeable choke tubes and barrel length/rib type affect how a gun fits its intended use.

  5. Factor 5

    Stock material and condition

Synthetic versus walnut stocks, and their condition, factor into overall assessment.

  6. Factor 6

    Included accessories

Extra barrels, choke tubes, and original case or paperwork can be part of an evaluation.
