Bolt-action rifles make up a large share of what we buy, ranging from classic hunting rifles to modern precision builds. We evaluate the action, bore, stock, and any factory or aftermarket optics as part of a single, straightforward offer.
What we look at
Caliber, barrel condition, action smoothness, and stock type and condition are the main factors in our review of a bolt gun.
What to include
Bring the rifle with its magazine or floorplate, plus any scope or bipod attached to it.
Condition and originality
Factory stocks and unmodified barrels are preferred, though rebarreled and restocked precision rifles are still commonly purchased.
Paperwork and accessories
Load data, handloading notes, or a chronograph history are not required, but any factory paperwork should be included if available.
